Bunds of native plants creates pockets of shelter and privacy within the garden.

Weatherly Drive – Coastal Garden

Project Brief:

Create a place to entertain a privacy in the front garden. The entertainment family room was on the second storey to make the most of the view, the clients wanted a garden to relax in.

What the design achieved:

A private courtyard for family entertainment, this beach front setting was exposed to the street, now the client have a place to retreat into rather than a lawn to view down upon.

Paisley Street Entertainment Courtyard

Project Brief:

Create entertainment space including a fireplace that can accommodate family and friends. Re-furbish the existing deck along the front of the house and link with the entertainment area.

What the design achieved:

Outdure Quickbuild framing system with porcelain tiles were used to create a contemporary courtyard surface above the existing tree roots. A raised planter wall creates a snug backdrop to the corner lounge setting supplied by Outside Space. A Shadowspec 3m square umbrella mounted at the corner out of the way. The cedar screening wall glows with outdoor lights in the evening, this fabulous entertainment space accommodates all the family and friends in front of the Bakewell outdoor fire.

Kibblewhite – Pool Garden

Project Brief:

Create a pool and a place for the family to relax. The pool will link back to a dining entertainment area closer to the house. Aim to make garden maintenance easier and more enjoyable.

What the design achieved:

A beautiful fiberglass pool from Narellan Pools was installed, Permadeck composite decking and White quartzite stone create a sleek modern look to the pool space. The pool cover reel was stored below the deck. A pine slat fencing accentuates the view to the distance sunsets on summer evening, as well as providing privacy and screening of the typical Beachlands water tanks.

Tui Vale – Tropical Garden

Project Brief:

Create a tropical garden with a good size lawn for the kids to play on. Lush and private with bold leaves and colour. A problem to be solved was how to deal with the 1 in 100 year flood plain which ran through the garden.

What the design achieved:

A lush garden planted with tropical foliage plants that perform all year round. Season flushes of colour and excitement with Spanish shawl, Spider lilies and scented Gardenias and a Star Jasminum lined driveway. A rock lined water course is ready to take any excessive run off after heavy rain.

Seymour – Bali Themed Garden

Project Brief:

Create a Bali themed retreat behind a walled garden. Improve the front entrance pathway.

What the design achieved:

A new entrance pedestrian gateway opens onto a lush boardwalk past a Thai face water feature. Access from the clients parked cars is past lush bamboo planters. A laser cut gate and fence contains the family dog to the rear garden. Summer evenings are spent relaxing in the Bali Bale with a glass of wine, a small water feature bubbles in the background. Granite steps cross a pond of Rain lilies to the walled garden. A collection of tropical foliage plants create a tapestry of joy for my clients.

Oceania – Low Maintenance Garden

Project Brief:

Create an easy-care garden with street appeal. Client didn’t want a fence to block the garden view. Needed privacy screens from the granny flat which looked into the main entertainment courtyard. Gate and fencing to keep grandchildren within rear courtyard.

What the design achieved:

Gabion baskets angled along the boundary allowed for views into and out of the front garden. Flowering Pear trees and white trunked Birch tree create seasonal interest around the driveway. Mass planting of phormiums and grasses with Star Jasmium green walls on the boundary fence were low maintenance. Laser cut rusty brown corten screens provided privacy and an art feature.
